Eastern Motor Racing Association (EMRA)

A little over 50 years ago, a few local car clubs joined together with the vision of building a better place to race in the Northeast. Since then, Eastern Motor Racing Association, better known as EMRA,  has grown to become one of the premier sanctioning bodies on the East Coast. EMRA’s wheel to wheel racing series is designed to deliver close, competitive racing for cars of all makes and models.  And their goal is to provide top competition without sacrificing any of the enjoyment – EMRA members race hard and always have FUN! His father, a 5-term US Senator from Virginia, his mother the daughter of a renowned Pittsburg born philanthropist, his step-mother a famous celebrity... Beating the dreaded Track Hangover - Newbill of Health (Crossover)

As automotive enthusiasts, we spend a lot of time researching and modifying our cars in pursuit of better performance.  However, we often tend to overlook our own physical performance and take for granted what it takes to keep performing at a high-level - all day - at a race track.
Many of us have felt the “track-day hangover” which to some, can feel like an actual hangover.  Headaches, fatigue, lack of motivation are all signs of dehydration.  Usually day two of a track weekend, you can see the folks in the paddock moving slower, not as energized, not as motivated and just feeling a little off. Porsche’s at the Beltsville Shell (Mark Porto)

It's always interesting when you come across a fellow-petrol head, especially a Porsche enthusiast while sitting across a board room table. Not long ago our Pit Stop profile guest Mark Proto and I were "killing time" before a meeting and came to the realization that we were both car enthusiasts, and Mark has some really interesting stories to share. We talk about his various Porsches, BMWs and about his families racing past which is outlined in a recent book "The Beltsville Shell: You Are What You Drive."

eSports + STEM = MIE Racing (David L. Middleton)

David L. Middleton, has always had a passion for Cars and Motorsports. As a child he became enamored with Porsche's and he never lost that passion. He declared to his parents from that young age that he wanted to one day work in the German Automotive industry.
But getting there wasn’t easy. After attending MIT and majoring in Physics, he moved to Germany and tried to secure a job in the Automotive industry. He didn’t know the language or the people, but he had a dream. There were many days when he wanted to quit. There were many days where he wondered if all the hard work was worth it. His dream and vision seemed so far away, but he learned to persevere and kept going even when it hurt. So with little money but big dreams, he was determined to make it work, #sendit, and ended up landing a job with BOSCH.
Today, David speaks fluent German and pushed beyond the day-to-day life of an ECU developer and was able to feed passion for motorsports becoming a Trackside Race Engineer at the Nürburgring. He and his family have returned stateside, and has started an organization called Middleton Innovative Education (aka MIE pronounced like pie) which is looking to revolutionize the way we teach and engage students in science, technology, engineering and math (aka STEM). The MIE program transform the eSports concept of gaming into a true STEM learning model!

Suspension bushings are some of the most highly stressed components fitted to a vehicle (and least talked about). They undergo enormous strains in the most arduous of conditions with no maintenance or lubrication.
