The DeLorean Legacy Project: Angel Guerra
Tuesday Apr 11, 2023
Tuesday Apr 11, 2023
Penned by renowned car, motorcycle, camera, and firearm designer, Giorgetto Giugiaro, the DeLorean DMC-12 is an American sports car that debuted in 1981 and despite a brief production run, it became a bonafide automotive icon when it was thrust into the cultural mainstream. Upon the DeLorean’s 40th anniversary, Spain’s Ángel Guerra (a designer for both Rimac and Bugatti) was determined to bring the steel-bodied, gull wing-doored DMC-12 squarely into the 21st century with a Next Generation concept. Co-hosting for this episode is Kat Delorean along with Angel Guerra dialing in from his home in Seville, Spain to tell us all about this revolutionary new car.

Yamaha's Curse and Snake Shopping with a Pornstar
Friday Mar 31, 2023
Friday Mar 31, 2023
Jon Summers is The Motoring Historian. He was a company car thrashing, technology sales rep that turned into a fairly inept sports bike rider. Hailing from California, he collects cars and bikes built with plenty of cheap and fast, and not much reliable. On his show, he gets together with various co-hosts to talk about new and old cars, driving, motorbikes, motor racing, and motoring travel.
Jon shares humorous and cautionary tales about his experiences with various motorcycles alongside his co-hosts Mark and John Garcia. They recount memorable bike rides, including the struggles with a cursed navy blue Yamaha XS650 and other motorcycles faced during their journeys and interactions. The dialogue touches on themes of technical issues, the thrill of riding, memorable accidents, and personal connections to bikes. They discuss their favorite motorcycles, both past and present, and reflect on the differences in riding conditions across regions like California, England, and the Philippines. Further topics cover electric bikes, road racing, and the impact of insurance on the sport. The script is a blend of nostalgic stories, technical discussions, and the shared passion for motorcycling.

Samantha Zimmermann is a fine artist specializing in realism, with the breadth of her work consisting of automotive and motorsports subjects. She joins us from her home studio in San Antonio, Florida, to tell us how she blended her passion for art and motorsports into a blossoming career.

Real Racers Turn in Both Directions: AutoCross, Life Skills, and the Woman Driver
Thursday Mar 16, 2023
Thursday Mar 16, 2023
After a career in advertising - some of it spent writing car commercials - Dr. Chris Lezotte earned a master's degree at Eastern Michigan University and a Ph.D. from Bowling Green State University. Now working as an independent scholar, she investigates the relationship between women and cars in a variety of contexts, including women's participation in traditionally masculine car cultures (including motorsports) as well as representations of women, and cars in popular culture. Dr. Lezotte's current project focuses on women's growing involvement in AutoCross - the reason's for women's participation; the methods by which women negotiate entry into a historically masculine environment; and how the AutoCross experience contributes to women's identity, self-knowledge, and empowerment.

On his show, he gets together with various co-hosts to talk about new and old cars, driving, motorbikes, motor racing, and motoring travel.
The conversation begins with Jon and his old friend, Mark, discussing show dynamics, the Tristram Shandy style, and the blurred nature of historical facts. They talk about personal anecdotes including fines at the airport, breakdowns while riding motorbikes, and experiences involving racing sponsors such as Boothy. The discussion also touches on various vehicles Jon has acquired or ridden, like a Yamaha Zuma, and concludes with musings on avant-garde collecting and thoughts on corporate influence in the classic car world. The segment is rich with detailed stories, car movie references, and reflections on the broader culture of motoring.

Watt Should I Buy? - Ladies charged up!
Tuesday Mar 07, 2023
Tuesday Mar 07, 2023
Oh the dreaded car buying experience... No matter who you are, it’s probably a safe bet this isn’t your ideal way to spend your weekend. In and out of dealerships, the hassle, haggling, the decision making.
When confronted with car buying in today’s modern world, there are just so many more choices besides make/model & “what color do I want?” Now it’s, "which power source do I want? To what level does it drive itself? Which creature comforts & gizmos are available for subscription? Am I Apple or Android?"
Even before so many choices, men and women have traditionally approached this experience differently for a multitude of reasons, some spanning use cases - from “the mom van,” to car enthusiast.
Today we will be diving deeper into What Should I Buy? from a ladies point of view, focusing on the new car buyer versus car collector demographic, and even more specifically EV buyers. Our group of extraordinary petrol-head panelists range from veteran car reviewers, to prospective buyers, as well as ladies already living with EV’s. We’re here to explore what to look for in today’s EV car market.
Joining us tonight we have some returning Break/Fix guests… please welcome: Sara Lacey from A Girls Guide to Cars, Carolyn Ford from the Tech Transforms Podcast, Gran Touring Motorsports club members Emily Fox and Chrissy Crutchfield as well as special guest Kat DeLorean from DNG Motors!

Hannah Thompson is a cultural historian of the Carolina Piedmont and is new in the museum field with her current position with the Gaston County Museum of Art & History. Ms. Thompson also helps restore Coca-Cola "ghost signs" throughout the Southeast in her spare time. She examines the history of the NASCAR Hall of Fame from its inception in 2001 through the global pandemic, bringing into consideration why Charlotte was selected as the seat for the Hall and how the Hall has affected NASCAR and its fans. Charlotte is often overlooked in motorsports history despite its lasting impact on the auto racing world.
