Harry Miller: The Man & His Machines
Thursday May 18, 2023
Thursday May 18, 2023
Gordon Eliot White is a retired newspaper correspondent who covered Washington, D.C., Europe and the Far East for the Chicago American and other newspapers for 34 years. After he retired from news-paper work he became the Smithsonian Institution's auto racing advisor, following a sport he had enjoyed since 1939. He since has written seven books on the history of American open-wheel racing, including a history of Fred Offenhauser and the Offenhauser racing engine. He has served as the unofficial historian of the Harry A. Miller Club and as curator and archivist of more than 12,000 drawings, tracings and blueprints of Miller's cars and engines, as well as of thousands of documents covering the history of American racing since early in the 20th century. His presentation will address Harry Miller's impression on American racing as well as how aficionados rediscovered him after he had been all but forgotten and, over the past 40 years have un-earthed and restored many of his cars.

Why should I buy… a water-cooled Porsche? (Kevin Duffy)
Tuesday Apr 18, 2023
Tuesday Apr 18, 2023
The last of the “cheap” Porsches – they were plentiful, and some had aggressive jack-knifed fender flares and others were more demure. They don’t have the panache of the 911 but that’s OK. Because these amazingly well-balanced front-mount rear-drive vehicles are what many would consider “a Driver’s Car” – something you jump in, don’t think twice about, but puts a smile on your face when exiting a corner on a back-road, autocross or race track.
Tonight we’re chatting about the Porsche 924 & 944 - the 924 being originally designed by Porsche for Volkswagen and is the predecessor to it’s more famous younger sibling the 944. These vehicles spanned a 16 year production run from 1976 through 1992 before ultimately being replaced by the 968. And joining us for an in-depth conversation into one of my favorite Porsche’s is Kevin Duffy, noted 924/944 expert from 924S944.com to explain to us “Why we should buy… a water-cooled Porsche!”

Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend (EILFM Crossover)
Thursday Apr 13, 2023
Thursday Apr 13, 2023
Set against the backdrop of post-war Italy, Lamborghini: The Man behind the Legend mirrors the complex transformation of Ferrucio Lamborghini’s homeland. From his modest beginnings building tractors to the infamous rivalry he shared with Enzo Ferrari, his unparalleled genius made him a true icon in the automobile industry. However, his passions also ignited emotional turmoil in his personal life, which was full of both romance and tragedy. Told through a tightly constructed narrative style and imaginative visual design, this film is the true story of the man behind the machine.
Welcome back Steve from Everything I Learn from Movies (EILFM) Podcast, as well as executive producer of the Drive Thru Tania, and Mountain Man Dan to Break/Fix movie review!

The DeLorean Legacy Project: Angel Guerra
Tuesday Apr 11, 2023
Tuesday Apr 11, 2023
Penned by renowned car, motorcycle, camera, and firearm designer, Giorgetto Giugiaro, the DeLorean DMC-12 is an American sports car that debuted in 1981 and despite a brief production run, it became a bonafide automotive icon when it was thrust into the cultural mainstream. Upon the DeLorean’s 40th anniversary, Spain’s Ángel Guerra (a designer for both Rimac and Bugatti) was determined to bring the steel-bodied, gull wing-doored DMC-12 squarely into the 21st century with a Next Generation concept. Co-hosting for this episode is Kat Delorean along with Angel Guerra dialing in from his home in Seville, Spain to tell us all about this revolutionary new car.
